SPLIT IN TWO
‘Split in two’ is a new duo contemporary circus show with two original members of Sisus, Inka Pehkonen and Sofia Defour. The show is imposed by its variety oh high-level circus skills (with a little touch of magic) including various different aerial disciplines for example Washington trapeze, Chinese Pole and also partner acrobatics, skipping rope, hand standing and contortion without forgetting comedy. The show can be performed indoors, in a theatre or in a circus tent.
‘Split in two’ (working title) is a provocative and humoristic, dominant and powerful statement against the stereotypical portrayals of women today. Moreover it is telling two simultaneous stories of two female caricatures who have found their freedom to be ugly, vulnerable, provoking, self-ironic and fiery both on and off stage. The characters are based on the the two artists, additionally being an exaggeration of their personalities. The empowered and authentic stories and experiences of these two women creates a liberating and genuine image of accepting one’s weaknesses as a human being, a woman and an artist and finding the strength within.
