With their new co-production "Out of the blue" Sisus and Fauna Circus want create a 40-minute seated outdoor show that offers a fresh perspective on traditional street performances, while maintaining an intimate and emotionally impactful vibe. The central theme revolves around badminton, with a coach and a played initiating a session that unveils a captivating world of unexpected, touching and comical moments. This idea draws inspiration from the intricate interplay of sports, circus and art, as well as aspiration to bridge the gap between festival audiences and the everyday public, much like the spirit embedded in traditional circus art.
Our approach blends humour and contemplation, resulting in a unique stage universe. This universe incorporates elements such as a badminton net, handstand canes that morph into walking arm stilts and a quirky shopping trolley transformer into an unconventional Washington trapeze, manoeuvred not by rigging points but wheels. As artists, our innovation flourishes within our individual disciplines and together emerges from the synergy of our imaginative concepts and our rich performance experience.
